Within the ice cream parlour we have a selection of local produce, giftware, books and toys including Tractor Ted books and DVD’s

Matlock meadows are CEVAS accredited and are able to accommodate government funded school visits. We have a function room available to hire and can cater for your requirements – please email, ring or pop in for further details.

Our Ice Cream Parlour/coffee shop is a new farm diversification project and is located within our real working dairy farm. (Please note that we are not a petting farm) Our facilities include an outside play area, indoor viewing gallery with disabled access to see the animal housing and milking parlour, a classroom/meeting room, toddler soft play area, pedal tractors, toilets with baby changing and disabled facilities, free on site parking. Patrons of the coffee shop/ice cream parlour are welcome to use the facilities and access to the animals free of charge however as we rely on the income generated from the coffee shop sales we only allow food and drink purchased on the premises to be consumed on site.

FARM SAFETY – we are a real working dairy farm so we politely ask parents/adults to supervise the people in their care at all times. Hand hygiene is very important on open farms due to the risk of e-coli therefore we pride ourselves on having good handwashing facilities - it is essential that visitors  wash their hands after touching any animals or the animal housing, after changing footwear and before entering the coffee shop – also please note that hand gels are ineffective against the spread of e-coli, thorough handwashing with warm water and soap are the most effective.
